Add a non-POD Product

This tutorial will show you how to add non-POD products to your GearGag store. You don’t have to upload an artwork or create a design for your product. All you need to do is to add product descriptions, set prices, and create variants. That’s it!

To add a non-POD product, go to your GearGag Admin > Products > Other Product

Then, you’ll be directed to the Add Product page. Do the following:

Title and product description

  • Title: Add the name of the product. The character limit for product title is 255 characters, including spaces.

  • Product Feature: Click Add Feature to add a product feature. You can add as many features as you want or click Remove to delete any of them if necessary.

  • Description: Write details about your product. Focus on the best features and how they can benefit your potential customers. 


Product images give your potential customers a preview of what your product looks like. You can either upload an image or add an image from URL.


  • Price: The price your customers have to pay to get the product. If the product is taxable, select the Charge taxes on this product option.

  • Compare at price: The original price for an on-sale product. When you enter a number to this box, a sale price will be displayed. 

  • Cost per price: The cost of a product or a variant you have to pay. For example, if you resell a product, then you can enter the price you paid the supplier, excluding taxes, shipping, and other costs. If you make the product yourself, then you can enter a value that is based on your labor and material costs.


  • SKU (stock keeping unit)The code that identifies the product within your business. For effective tracking and sales reporting, each SKU needs to be unique. SKUs are optional.

  • Barcode (ISBN, UPC, GTIN, etc.): Barcodes are typically used by resellers. The identifier needs to be new or existing Global Trade Item Number (GTIN). Some sales channels require a GTIN before a product can be published using the channel. UPC, EAN, and ISBN numbers are examples of GTINs, which might vary in length depending on the product type. You can find the GTIN above or below the barcode on the packaging of your product.

  • Inventory policy: The setting for inventory tracking. 


You can add variants to your product. Click Add Variant to see settings. For more information, read Understand product variants. 


Enable this feature to personalize your product. You can add text, image, gift box, etc. 

Search engine listing preview

This section shows a preview of how your product will appear in search engine results. The preview consists of the product title, its URL on your store and part of the product description. Click Edit Website SEO to edit the preview.

Product availability

Select any of the following:

  • Isolate Design: If you select this, your customers won’t find your product when using the search box. They can see your product only by going directly to the product page (URL).

  • Do not index: If you select this, your product won’t be found by search engine crawlers.

  • Sell on Marketplace: If you select this, your product can be shown in other GearGag sellers. 


  • Product type: A category for the product that you can use to manage your products. For example, you can use the product type to filter your products in your admin. Each product can have only one product type. 

  • Vendor: The manufacturer, wholesaler, or other vendors for the product. 

  • Tags: Add searchable keywords about your product. After that, you can use keywords to find the product you want. 

  • Layout Template: Select a layout template to display your product. 

  • Shipping Type: Select the shipping type for your product. 

Once you’re done with everything, click Save Product as the bottom down of the Other Product page.
