UPS MAIL INNOVATIONS

FALL/HOLIDAY 2020 PEAK PERIOD

SERVICE CUT-OFF RECOMMENDATION

The fall/holiday mailing period is quickly approaching for 2020.  In an effort to ensure quality service in the processing and delivery of holiday packages during this peak period; and in an attempt to ensure delivery to the recipient, by our partners the US Postal Service, in time for the holiday, the following recommended cut-off dates are provided for planning purposes.

  • Packages that are for national distribution (outside the UPS-MI originating facility service area), and destined to one of the 48 contiguous United States, the recommended cut-off date of Tuesday, December 15th, 2020 will afford the highest opportunity to ensure delivery is completed by the holiday.

  • Packages that are for regional distribution (within the UPS-MI originating facility service area) and destined to the contiguous United States served by the particular Regional Processing facility, the recommended cut-off date of Wednesday, December 16th, 2020 will afford the highest opportunity to ensure delivery is completed by the holiday.

  • For International “Priority” service the recommended cut-off date of Friday, December 4th, 2020 will afford the highest opportunity to ensure delivery is completed by the holiday.

  • For International “Economy” service the recommended cut-off date of Friday, November 20th, 2020 will afford the highest opportunity to ensure delivery is completed by the holiday.

In an effort to minimize any concern with the processing of packages by UPS Mail Innovations, with final delivery provided by our partners the US Postal Service in time for the holiday, this information should be communicated through UPS Mail Innovations Sales Executives, and shared with Strategic customers who are service sensitive, as appropriate, to support their planning process for the up and coming holiday period.

By providing recommended cut-off dates, we know that we have taken steps to ensure that in the vast majority of cases, packages that were inducted by the recommended cut-off dates above should see delivery by the holiday.

Note:  These dates are not a guarantee of service performance.  It should be understood that a small percent of packages processed by UPS Mail Innovations and deposited in the US Postal Service network for final delivery experience delivery in excess of the anticipated and average transit times, particularly at this peak mailing period.  These dates serve as a recommendation of what is anticipated to be a reasonable period that will allow for delivery, in most cases, to be completed by the holiday.
